Surface pumps.
operate from the water sources of rivers, ponds, dams, swamps and lakes near the surface of the earth and are used primarily for moving water through the pipe. These pumps have a pull and water exhaust component. They are often placed near a water source and absorb (draw) water over it and push it to the desired location for a certain distance. They do not enter the water, meaning they operate while they are outside the water or near the water source.
